Why I’ve Gotten Away From Regularly Posting Photography

Okay, so I know I’ve been talking about my poetry, and this blog post will continue that tone. A little background on why that is; I am currently away from my personal photography work and have not created too much of anything new. My current day-job as an school photographer has allowed me to learn all sorts of new fundamentals of photography, such as posing, composites, and action/sport photography. Although I’ve been creating some great images I cannot share them as the rights of these photos belong to the company I currently work for.

I say that to say, my day-job has me a little burnt out on photography. However, where my photography inspiration lacks, I have rekindled a flame for my poetry. I’ve been to 3+ open mics in the past 2 weeks just letting the words flow, as well as, posting about my poetry here.

The time away from focusing solely on the front-of-house with my photography business has led to me doing an ample amount of work on the backend. I’ve since added products and built-out my web store, revamped the website as a whole, and picked up a book by Brian Finch to aid me in the process of putting the finishing touches on my business plan.

So although it may seem as if things are stagnant, the creative wheels are most definitely turning!

In the mean time, enjoy this video of the very first time I ever got on the microphone to speak my poetry in front of a crowd. Let me know if you can you tell that I was nervous? Lmao😅 Comment down below!
