5 Tips for Beginner Photographers

  1. Start with the basics: Read your camera manual and learn the functions of each button and how each button correlates to each other. Get a good understanding of the basic camera functions and settings.

  2. Learn about the exposure triangle and how each component interacts with each other to create different effects.

(I will have a free course on the exposure triangle which you’ll be able to find right here. It should be active by the top of the new year)

  3. Learn and experiment with different composition techniques such as the rule of thirds, negative space, leading lines, etc. to enhance your photos.

  4. Find an editing software that complements your editing style. Then develop an easy flowing editing process that you can put on repeat.

  5. Practice, practice, and more practice! The more shots you take the more comfortable you’ll be with your camera, which in turn will make you a better photographer!
